We enjoyed Saturday July 11th as a family. We started the morning off by attending the Tahiti Fete held at the Polynesian Cultural Center. There were 3 groups competing. Nonosina, Tehamata, and another group from town. I have to say... it is so amazing to see young children, even toddlers dancing Tahitian! I swear they paoti and shake better than some young adults do. What was even more exciting to see children of classmates and nightshow alumni performing. It was awesome.
In the afternoon, we celebrated my nephew's 3rd Birthday. His name is Kainoa. He is such a cutie. He is autistic but such a lovable boy to be around. Unfortuantely during the party we got a phone call that my Uncle Ammon Borges passed away. It was day full of mixed emotions. It was so nice that we were able to be together as a family during this time to celebrate together, cry together, and be there for each other. I love family! We will miss you Uncle!
