Poor yet memorable Valentine's Day
This year we didn't really do anything special for Valentine's Day. We did however get to attend an exciting wrestling event. My brother in law Jordan is the youngest of the Ha'o children. He is a Junior at Kealakehe High School. He wrestled in the BIIF Championship Final match on the night before Valentine's Day. It was a close match and went into overtime. Joe stood in his corner outside the circle as his coach. Can I just say that I couldn't believe how Joe was raging in the corner! He was yelling, jumping, throwing his lei on the ground, and just all over the outside of the ring. It was kind of funny now that I look back, but I was pretty shocked and embarrassed back then! Jordan lost the match and it took Joe the rest of the weekend to cool down. It was a hard loss. Wrestling is such an intense sport because you are competing as an individual. The tension is nothing like team sports. Joe and the rest of his 4 brothers are wrestlers so this sport is serious business to them. It is amazing to see the commitment, hard work, and discipline with diet that wrestlers go through. After the championship match we went to Jack in the Box and called it our "Valentines Day Dinner". We decided not to spend money on Valentines this year so we could take a trip to Oahu and visit my family. No money, No real celebration, but the company and excitement was awesome.
